    Work through his troubles?

He's hitting .267 with 4 HR and a few very key RBI. Ain't all-star, but ain't struggling either.

You don't FUCK with anything if you're Yost.

    And Turnbow-Cordero.

Can I get a short list of 8th-9th duos better than that?

If Nathan would return to form, I'd nominate Neshek-Nathan or Rincon-Nathan, but not right now.

    Okajima-Papelbon are up there too.

Maybe Pube can watch some Sox games every fifth day as they preserve wins for Beckett.

Yost is giving Cordero the Scott Proctor treatment, though.

Perhaps Beckett can pitch in relief on his throwing day, a la Pettite?

I have no doubt that he'd vulture an extra win a week.

    You sir are a genius.

He can win 35 starts and toss the fifth inning of blowout wins started by the fifth starter 15 times. Fifty wins. If Terry Francona only knew the stakes, he'd be on board in a heartbeat.

In the creaking galleon that the Mariners are sailing these days, this one has gotten lost: Morrow-Putz.

Brandon Morrow is a good catch by Bavasi.

Meredith-Hoffman is pretty damned good. I don't know if it's better, but pretty comparable.

All sports need more of this. Funny, witty and not classless.

Why I love being a Phillies phan:

    First six batters tonight vs. 90-year-old Randy Johnson: K, K, K, K, K, K
