Now wouldn't it be funny if it stayed that way?

The funny thing is, the Cubs were supposed to be able to hit, but didn't have enough pitching after Zambrano and no real closer. Well, Zambrano has been shit, but Ted Lilly, Rich Hill and Jason Marquis have been outstanding. So has Ryan Dempster closing out games.

And yet, they still find a way to struggle.

Perhaps this is the year Timmy Wakefield makes his first All-Star team? He currently leads the league in ERA...

So does Neifi count as three ex-Cubs?

Yes. Especially since he now looks like he ate Darren Baker in the off-season.

He hasn't faced the Mariners yet...

Of course they do. They're the Cubs.

I'm looking forward to Mark Prior rehabbing from his shoulder surgery, winning 19 games in 2009 for the World Championship-winning Dodgers and outdueling Kerry Wood of the Rangers in the greatest World Series Game 7 ever pitched.

And Neifi Perez would hit the game-winning home run in the bottom of the ninth?

In the "from bad to worse" category:

Roy Halladay is undergoing apendectomy (sp?) tonight in Toronto. He's done for four to six weeks.

We'll find out in four weeks he actually blew his elbow out.

"First of all, it wasn't Roy Halladay's appendix that was bothering him," JP Ricciardi told Toronto's Fan 590. "It was his elbow that was bothering him. So we said it was his appendix so we could have a little bit more time."

JP was interviewed before the game tonight and he looked like a beaten man. He was at a loss.

Burrell has some power after all.
Three-run shot to left off of Hill.
    3-2 Phils in the 4th.

The Nats pull Shawn Hill in the sixth inning with a no-hitter. He had some sort of physical issue, but didn't want to come out.
