    Dear Pope:

John Maine is not pitching today, Mike Pelfrey is and the Brewers are leading 1-0 in the third.
Oh, and sorry you are among the hundreds of thousands of suckers who got duped by MLB. It was a bad deal from square one!

Some friends and I were talking about what the Jays should do this year. Fire Gibbons is No. 1. And replace him with Ernie Whitt. Everyone loves Ernie Whitt, from what I've heard. And I know Canada loves him, so he could lose every game from here to Labour Day and no one would mind.

Then, next year (like now), Bobby Valentine and Joe Girardi are available.

OK, you Brewers fans... JJ Hardy just hit grand slam off Joe Smith, 9-3 in the 8th

Young Mr. Hardy is very, very impressive!

PopeDirkBenedict, I'm frustrated about this as well. I remember watching 1 p.m. games on mlb.tv in this same situation earlier this season. What gives?

I'm having major flashbacks from the sight of those Pads uniforms yesterday. How long must this go on? I may have to take this over to boots' God thread.

The Brewers will beat them today, but things are coming together for the Mets. Delgado and Wright have started to hit, and El Duque is close to returning, which should send Pelfrey down to the minors where he belongs right now, with Jorge Sosa taking over as the fifth starter. Solid hitting, solid rotation, solid bullpen .... with Pedro's rehab supposedly going very well. They're good enough to reach the postseason without him, but if they get Pedro back healthy in the second half, look out.

    And, like I said. ...

Leave Billy Hall the fuck alone.

Exactly. He'll work himself out of the early-season funk ... as he showed today. No need to tinker with what won you the last 11 of 13 and 18 of 23.

I was out of a wireless access area on Friday night and my hotel's dial-up was so slow I couldn't even log on, so I don't want to give the impression I was dodging after the Brewers' massive one-run loss on Friday.

Talk it up, bitch. I think J.J. Hardy took care of my revenge for me today. :D

Have fun with Capuano on Sunday. Enjoy punching yourself in the balls in frustration. :D

You think J.P. will actually want to work with either one?
