Giants rookie Fred Lewis hit for the cycle today, only four days after being called up from AAA.

He hit a double in the first inning, a three-run homer in the fourth (his first career tater), a triple in the fifth and two singles in the seventh as the Giants batted around. He went 5-for-6, scored three runs and drove in four.

Sunday's game was the 16th of his MLB career and marked only his fourth career start.

    Dear diarrhea for brains:

1.) For further proof that NOBODY here likes you and that your exit would be greeted with unanimous fucking glee, notice how many people chimed in about this over the last 10-12 hours. NO ONE. So you are a clown and everyone sees it except the man staring back at you in the mirror. Please keep deluding yourself though.

2.) It's funny that you found my missive from when he was 6-0, not 7-0. Goddamn, you're a clown.

3.) Did you actually read the stories about Beckett's injury? Or did you just ejaculate in your drawers when you saw he left due to a finger injury? He'll miss a start, maybe two. This is not a long-term thing. He'll be back on the road to 18 wins before you know it, little man.

4.) Did you see his line from today? Seven Ks in four innings. Dude is fucking filthy. But you keep kidding yourself...about your importance here, about Josh Beckett's health and ability to win 18 games this season. And everything else in between.

Oh. LONNNNNNNNG ago, I got used to the thin-skinned pricks around here not acknowledging my being the first to make a point or being right about something or any number of things.

    Long ago.

To see the silence attached to yet another Molotov attack of yours blowing up in your face is refreshingly consistent.

There is no one who takes unsolicited shots at another member with the frequency you do.

It that regard, I may be a Sham.

But only if you are Secretariat.

    That's right. Everyone's wrong and YOU'RE right.

You've been saying that since high school, right? Sitting all alone at your table, certain that you were right and the whole darn cafeteria was wrong? Little man. Little, alone man.

It's not that I'm certain that I'm right.

It's that I'm certain you know I'm right.

And you are too juvenile to handle it.

    Very humorous.

Oh, and before some other HTT chimes in about the thread getting locked, I'm done with the putz for now.

Could you run that thru psychofish for me, please?

Oh and your new sig is pathetic. You can't come up with anything other than what BTE already had in his sig? Sad.

I was wrong about Peyton Manning. I've given it about two seconds of thought since the Super Bowl. Or the same amount of time it takes for you to prove you are completely psychotic.

You'll be back here, cursing and flinging poo in no time flat.

  8. I hope they saved up all of those runs in this road trip coming up.

Great to get the win and runs. Even better. Sidney is gone.

  9. I enjoyed watching Shannon play. He did a great job with the Twins, but he was never going to be healthy playing in turf. He was injured almost every year which is why the Twins never brought him back. He was a fixture in the DL.

Luis Castillo is fine. His problem is that he is always hurt because of the turf.

As for Nick, the Twins called up Garrett Jones prior to the game last night. I am hoping Jones catch lightning on the bottle so he can take Punto's job.

How, I say HOW! does John Gibbons still have a job this morning?

Pulls Marcum, who walked just three batters through six innings and only threw 78 pitches total. Yet, he doesn't come out for the seventh.

Then, to start the eighth (which I missed because I was working) he apparently did this:
The Jays were still in it when Gibbons made a curious decision to start the eighth.

Until then, Devil Rays starter Jae Seo had been every bit as effective as Marcum. He allowed only two hits through seven innings. But now the Jays were facing right-hander Brian Stokes, a man who had surrendered runs in three of his last five relief appearances.

So Gibbons preferred to look for a substitute bat to catcher Jason Phillips to lead off the eighth. Looking down his bench, the manager bypassed club home run leader Alex Rios, who had been given the day off, and left-handed hitter Jason Smith. Instead, he tapped John McDonald on the shoulder. The light-hitting utility infielder was 1 for his last 25 at-bats at the time.

History proved depressingly predictive as McDonald grounded out to first.

Asked about that decision, Gibbons replied cryptically, "I've got my reasons."

Would you care to share them? he was asked.

"No, I'd rather not," the manager replied.
