I think Michael Wuertz just walked Felix Mantilla...

Sam Bowie played 79 games one year, too.

Chris Chandler had two seasons with 15 games played.

You know what Oz? John Buck hit the big home run tonight, and that guy is so big. Big as an ox that he should be hitting 25 a year.

Meche is a stud. 1.91 ERA. I guess Dayton Moore had a pretty good feeling about him.

But...but... he has to suck! They overspent!

Anybody notice that the ridiculously overpriced Ted Lilly has also been outstanding.

But the Yankees were much better off spending all that money for Kei Igawa. :)

Only once prior to this year did Gil Meche post an ERA under 4.48, and he spent his entire career in a pitcher's park. Dayton Moore lucked out.

Dice-K looked really good last night, giving up only one run (Granderson HR) in a complete game effort. Key stat for him: no walks.

Mike Lowell has to be one of the more underrated players in the bigs, even from Sox fans. He's on pace for 32 homers and 137 RBI's. Not saying that's going to happen, but he's been a helluva lot better than J.D. Drew thus far.

Nice for the Sox fans to jump on his nuts. How did he do for you the past couple seasons?

Past couple of seasons? The Sox traded for him and Beckett before last season, genius. He was damn good last year (finished third in doubles in the AL) but has stepped it up in the first couple of months of '07.

I am not trying to incure the wrath of YankeefansSportsJournalists.com, but the 2007 Yanks season could be DOA after Memorial Day.

As of today, the Yanks are 8 1/2 games back of Boston. Their next four series are against the White Sox, Mets, Boston and Anaheim. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teams/nyy/schedule;_ylt=AraKp8OkXSEApm8Czr4gx0oi0bYF

Kauffman is very much a pitcher's park. And while I think Meche is pitching better than even Moore dared to dream, the ultra-tight Glass family wouldn't shell out that kind of jingle if Moore was just hoping to "get lucky".

In other words, Lowell is doing what he always does the first half of the season...to be followed by the usual complete collapse in the second half. But hey, you keep creaming yourself over it.

Yankees have, what, 73 more games left with the Red Sox? Plenty of time to make up ground on a team that has Iron Horses the likes of Lowell, Drew and Beckett.
