Larry Biitner... 2 I's, no hands

  2. I'll never forget the time he lost a fly ball in his cap. As bad as the Cubs are now, in the '70s they were worse.

What about Joe Nathan? Isn't he a free agent after this season? You'd think he would be at the top of the trade list if they are out of the race come July.

Speaking of Larry Biittner ... reminds of that inventive organist the Pirates used at Three Rivers Stadium, Vince Lascheid. (Do they still use him?)

Anyway, he was outstanding at coming up with some inventive songs to play for each player that came to bat. When Biittner came up, he played "Ay ... ay ... yi, ay ..." (Or however you would spell the "lyrics" to Cielito Lindo). Hey, it was funny back in the 80s.

Guess it's wishful thinking that anyone won't vote for Jays players on the All-Star roster ::)?

You're right. He's probably a more likely candidate to get moved than Santana, who still has one more year left before he's a free agent.

    7-0 in 8 starts.

Lkely to miss two starts. Let's say he misses three though.

That still means he has 24 more starts. Which means he has to win 11 of them.

See you in October. Or, in your case, won't see you in October.

PS: This took you nearly 12 hours. Are you OK?

I think I read a story in Inside Sports where Vince Lascheid either got thrown out of a game or was threatened with ejection when he played Hallaluia or Ta Da after complaints about calls and the umpire got upset.

    LOL.

First, him missing three starts is pipe-dream-esque.

    Say he does, though.

Just like in past returns from Blisturbia, he ain't snapping off his curve anymore.
