  1. I wouldn't be oppose to trading Joe either. Closers are getting overpaid nowadays. Joe is going to want what Wagner and Ryan got and rightfully so. Twins and him have had a hard time coming to an agreement so there is a possibility that he could be gone. He also is replacable as great as he is. I could see him gone too.

I don't think trading Torii, Joe, and Johan is a bad thing. This team needs players with talent that could step in now. Their minor league system has players that are still too raw to play in the majors. They are just nor ready for the big show and they won't be for at least two or three years so the best way to improve this team for next year is just get some players who can contribute now. This team could use an upgrade at third base, left field, and maybe second base (Castillo is hurt often beacuse he can not play at the turf).

  2. At some point, the Twins and him will have to agree on a long-term contract soon or they could risk losing him for nothing when he is a free agent. Maybe he does not go this season, but if things don't work out in the off-season, a trade may have to happen. You can't let him walk for nothing. Considering the frustration about lack of run support, I really wonder if he wants to be there. He got denied of the Cy Young couple of years ago because lack of run support and he lost game 1 of the playoffs last year because of our punch-and-judy offense. I just wonder how long does he put up with this. He is only human. At some point, he wants to win a championship and I just wonder if he believes in this organization.

    I meant this year.

They can't get equal value, and Ryan won't ship him off at the deadline.

I guess there's a chance he goes in the offseason if they can't do a deal.

Brett Myers just struck out Bono, er, Jason Phillips.

True. Jacoby is the future in Boston. He's untouchable and will be the CF sooner rather than later.

I don't want to jinx him, but Boof Bonser has been nails lately, and he's putting up some great K numbers.

If the Twins start winning some of his starts, he could be fantasy gold.

I've refused to believe it so far, but I am starting to lean toward the camp that says the Yankees just aren't very good this season.

    They aren't.

I mean, they're going to score.

But I don't think Clemens is going to make that an awesome pitching staff.

"Just aren't very good" is a bit of an understatement, Angola.

The Yankees will finish below .500 this season.

Anyone watch the Tigers game? How did Miller look?

I think they have one more run in them. If they can stay close to a playoff spot by the time Clemens and Hughes get back, they will have some pretty good starting pitching.

  12. He certainly has the stuff to be really good.

He showed that in September and in Game 2 last year.

It's just consistency and he will get there.

What's even impressive is that the Twins are winning big tonight against a good ballclub.
