I do wonder if their relief pitching would be better if it didn't have to throw so many innings.

    6 innings, 4 hits, 0 runs, 3 walks, 2 Ks, 90 pitchs.

Looked pretty good considering it's his first start.

When's the last time the Yanks were 10 games out? Or the last time they were 0.5 games out of last place on May 18?

You sure as heck can't count on the Yanks ever, especially not this early in the year, but they definitely need the pitching cavalry to hurry over the hill.

Saw the stats. Just was wondering if he looked that good. Great numbers for his first start.

Any Mariners beat guys ---- or anyone with a pulse:

Why, when he has juggled the rest of the lineup, has Haargrove refused to move Richie-I'm-batting-.159.-Sexson out of the cleanup hole?

Yea, he did look pretty good. First inning, he got the first two batters, but the next two got singles (altho they weren't hit that hard). He walked Rolen to load the bases, but got Ludwick out to get out of the jam.

At one point, he retired eight in a row.

He looked much better than his brief callup last September.

I believe this is still going to be just a one-start kind of thing and he'll be back in Erie, but if Bonderman's blister problem is still around, Miller could get another start.

Boof goes 7, one earned, three hits, one walk, 11 K's.

The Twins remain the most frustrating team in existence (except the Cubs).

  9. The important thing is that the Twins won, Zeke.

    Be thankful for small blessings.

Another solid outing for Jorge De La Rosa as Kansas City rallies to beat Colorado. The Royals are getting a bona fide 1-2 punch with Meche (3-1, 1.91 ERA) and De La Rosa (4-3, 3.59 ERA). Even Joakim Soria - not a true closer - is doing well with nine saves and 3.54 ERA.

And Odalis Perez (1-hitter thru 6 against the A's Wednesday) has been solid as well.

Bob McClure is doing some really nice work.
