Any small offensive setback is magnified when you've got the Phils' rotation.

Worse than the Yankees? I'd guess not.

'Gola, what do you think about Washburn? Surely he's better than Rasner, right?

More than five runs a game since the AS break.

I don't get a writer putting that on the screen.

That's not exactly a ringing endorsement, but yeah they've got to do something to get him out of the rotation. Trade for Washburn or bring Kennedy back up.

I wonder if this trade means the Braves are planning on Hudson missing 2009 with Tommy John surgery. They should have PLENTY of money to spend (especially if Smoltz retires), maybe even enough for someone like CC. Frenchy won't be as expensive to resign, either. Surely they're planning on adding some star power, or they might draw 20,000 per game next season.

I didn't RTFA, so I'm not sure what his point was. But any talk of offensive struggles should have probably ended after they hung 12 and 10 on Atlanta.

They will NOT sign CC Sabathia. Book that right now.

They've got to spend money on someone, or their fans will revolt.

Braves don't have as much money as you think, HP.

They'll sign a pitcher or two, especially if Hudson misses '09, but it won't be Sabathia.

They're dumping so much salary from this season, just with Tex and Hampton. Maybe Smoltz, too.
