MN state hockey tournament - 2010 edition

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by Rosie, Mar 5, 2008.

I was getting that from the state association's brackets on their Web site. They have seeding for the top four in each class listed there. I think the Strib guy also used it in his blog this morning.
But before anyway thinks I'm being serious -- my last post was just a joke. If you'll look, last night I was asking what other's thought of Marshall's chances of winning. Now I'm acting like I'm the expert.
Just having fun during a slow day at work! Oh, and it's 3-0 now. GO TOPPERS!

I thought Warroad was the No. 2 seed and Duluth Marshall was the No. 3 seed. My bad. I'm interested in the tournament, but not exactly an expert.

And we've gone final. No. 2 Duluth Marshall wins 3-1 and we are guaranteed to have an all-private final in Class 1A.

    Pub-lic schoo-ools, clap, clap, clap-clap-clap!

I wish I could join in the public-private debate, but it's sad that I would fall on the public side. Even though I went to a private school that has been doing quite well in the 1A tourney. I think private schools should be forced to play up in class. I might bring that up the next time I get a call from my school looking for money (they clearly are not teaching kids that sports writers aren't exactly a cash cow for donations :D).

The privates should all have to play up, in my opinion.

I did see this. Zeke, you should read this if you haven't already. STA has the resources and facilities to move up and they should. They won the A state swim meet last weekend and they'll win the hockey title. No offense, B_P :) STA likes to keep the trophy case freshly stocked.

Hey ink, you aren't the only one who remembers the old days :D

    STA wins 9-2.

    BSM/Edina next.

I didn't see John Mayasich play, but I did get the opportunity to meet and interview him a few years back.

Very nice, very humble man. Typical Iron Ranger.

It's absolutely amazing the records he still holds to this day.

I dated a girl from Edina once... she lived up to the old motto: EDINA -- Every Day I Need Attention....

Rosie, do you have record books that show rosters or results? The game I mentioned a couple of pages back between a team and Edina that went OT somewhere in the early '70's is bugging me. I swear a Doug Long played goal for some team against Edina. I think it's a different year than the one ink mentioned.
