She is too skinny now. I only watched Ed a couple times, liked it, but was traveling too much at the time to get into it.

She had one of the best appearances ever on Stern. She showed up once when she was dating David Spade and went on and on about having an Ivy League degree. I think she went to Princeton or Brown. They invited her back to play "Win Fred's Money" where she did a knowledge contest with sound-effects guy Fred Norris (who is brilliant) and he kicked her ass.

She did not respond well, but it was quite funny...

    So a couple things:

    (1) She was incredibly hot in "Happy Gilmour." It's just from a different era, so the '90s hair and makeup and clothing obscures it. I remember at the time beyond blown away by her.

    (2) An Ivy League education isn't meant to equip you to win trivia contests. The inability to win said trivia contests in no way reflects on the quality of an Ivy League education - or an education any where, for that matter.

Actually, she was the PR flack for the tour. And damn if the first couple of seasons of Ed weren't great. It took me close to a season of Mad Men before I quit looking at Roger Sterling and seeing Dennis Martino.

I wonder if it has anything to do with her heart ... apparently she's had a pacemaker since her early 20s.

I knew I heard the name before, but could never pinpoint where ... and I never bothered looking it up.

IIRC, there was a scene in Happy Gilmore where Sandler "dreams" that Bowen is in a bikini and she starts getting busy with Shooter McGavin on a green next to a pond. Then, McGavin starts making out with Sandler's grandma. Good times.

    I did not know that.

Every time I look at John Slattery, I just see my future husband.

I first saw Bowen in Ed and thought she was hot then. Still hot. But yeah she seems to have lost too much weight since having twins.

There was a scene I think in the first season where she was in her underwear with an open robe. I doubt she'd look the same doing that scene today. Too much rib exposed.

Greatest line ever in Modern Family - when the kids walked in on Phil and Claire doing the hibbity-bibbity and Luke later said, "Whatever they were doing, it looked like Dad was winning."

Might have been the funniest line ever. Still have that ep on DVR so the Mrs. and I can watch it whenever.

    Terrific premise and extremely well-executed.

What did you guys think of the virginity storyline last night? Pretty heavy stuff, huh?

I remember my brother would tell my mom absolutely everything about his life with his girlfriend and eventual wife (and now ex-wife). I think it drove her bonkers that I never shared anything with her at all. I remember she found a condom in the washer one time and brought it to me in this huge accusatory show. Problem was, it wasn't mine and I swore up and down to that. But she didn't believe me and had to apologize profusely later.

Good to see Modern Family take on something that a lot of parents have to face eventually.
