Monitoring the message boards

Angola -- No, I genuinely mean it as a compliment. It's a great way to privately take the first step to follow up on some of the stuff you read on the boards (unless the person posts your e-mail). I can think of some situations where that might have helped me track down some stuff.

 

I always make sure and be professional in the e-mail to the person and include my work signature:

Angola!
Sports writer
Podunk Press
555-555-5555

One of the guys I contacted recently, actually called me at my office and gave me more info. He said he felt more comfortable doing it over the phone, rather than on a computer which could be traced to him.
