And since management knows there will never be another strike, it can get nastier at the bargaining table than it ever has gotten.
What sort of pay cut did Toledo "negotiate" for its latest contract? At least the union dues go down a little when the pay goes down.

Just to toss my two-cents in: I was with the Houston Post with Deano did the hatchet job there. It was done kindly, though. I got 12 hours notice ... and found out from a friend of mine in Florida, NOT from the newspaper itself.

I feel sad for all the papers getting cuts right now. Singleton's a bastard. Sorry for the language ... but it's just true.

 

Maybe if the world is lucky, one of these days Singleton will join Jelenic in the cancer ward.
