I also heard Richmond turned the best profits last year. My 32isK daily made money too and we've been praised from the higher-ups. Supposedly everyone made money except Tampa, but didn't make the unreasonable 30 percent profit margins that the higher-ups expected.

More than double that now. Something is more than wrong.

Four or more from sports? They might be running unedited press releases by 2010 at this rate.

At this rate, those unedited press releases may have to be online only.
Should have been more clear -- looks like double that across the newsroom. Maybe an even dozen?

A major metro like the T-D can't really lose much than what it is already at and continually produce quality local content. Though, the furloughs may have proven that papers can get by with less - even if the furloughs meant losing just eight or so hours per person each week.

A lot of the guys at the T-D are class acts. It'd be a shame to see anyone go, much like at any shop these days.

I'm now hearing they're up to 15 people in Richmond, and it's starting to reach middle management.

The names I've heard in sports, which I will not post until it's official and they OK it, are two of my best friends in that department. I'm simply sick.

I'm sick to my stomach after reading the latest news. I'm deeply sorry to all.

Absolutely no need to feel sorry for me. I feel sick for all those I left behind.

Middle management and the worker bees aren't the problem there.

Yeah, I'm hearing 15 and maybe rising (but maybe not).
If the names I'm hearing are correct, I may spend tomorrow punching holes in walls.
Just got back from a nice birthday dinner to celebrate my daughter's 23rd. She knew something was wrong.
    This is really bothering me.
