I was also at the Sugar Bowl the night Jerome Bettis and Notre Dame ran all over Florida. That was the one where Lou Holtz made his famous comment about Cherrios: "What's the difference between Cherrios and Notre Dame? Cherrios belong in a bowl," to fire up the Irish. Only time I've ever seen Notre Dame play, and while I'll never be a fan, hearing their band play the 1812 Overture at the end of the third quarter was very cool.

3 stick out...none were super famous:
    1. John Wasdin threw a perfect game in Triple-A while pitching for Nashville against Albuquerque. It was the same day that Carmelo and Syracuse won the National title, which means it was April 7, 2003.
    2. Lions/Niners, Harbaugh/Schwartz ‘Handshake Game’
    3. A Red Sox rookie (Devern Handack) pitched a nearly perfect game in 2006 to end the season against the O’s. But he walked a batter, the rains came and the game ended 9-0 after 5. He got the win, but no credit for a no-no.

I was supposed to be at the Pistons/Pacers ‘Malice at the Palace’ game, but we decided to stay at the TV station instead. Oops.

Inaugural games of the Marlins, Devil Rays and Jaguars. My wife had the programs framed.

Was standing 30 feet from Spieth when he hit the first of two on the water on No. 12 at Augusta. Also saw him melt down at Birkdale and then steamroll Kuchar.

Poolside in China when Phelps out-touched Cavic to win his seventh gold medal in 2008. Saw every race in that Olympics including the 4x100 relay and Lezak's charge, which is still the most jaw-dropping sporting feat I've ever seen.

Saw the Pats rally from 28-3 to win the Super Bowl.

Saw Canada win gold in hockey for the first time in 50 years in SLC.

Edit: Forgot that, as a fan, I was in Yankee stadium the night Jeter dove face-first into the stands against the Red Sox.

As a biased Sox fan, I’d like to point out that the dummy tripped over the tarp and cut his face bc he in fact lacked field awareness on the play.

I attended the Nationals' first game at RFK. That's about the best I've got.

Jealous of so many of you. Ibanez two-homer game vs. Orioles in ALDS probably only sort-of-famous I saw. One of Magic Johnson's last good games ever is a personal highlight but not historic. But he had 11 sweet assists against Wolves in 1996. As someone who grew up worshiping him and still spends hours on YouTube hunting for his best passes, it was pretty special. Shortly after he was suspended for bumping a ref, then Lakers got eliminated in first round.

I was about six rows deep of humanity off the 18th green at Pinehurst No. 2 on Father's Day 1999 for Payne Stewart's putt. Didn't see the ball go in the cup. Could only see Stewart. That was enough. Amazing moment.

1992 NBA All Star Game-- Magic's "final" game

Dale Earnhardt winning the Daytona 500. Want to forget the other one.
