    That's hilarious.

The TV station lets him do his own BLOG before the newscast. ???

Well, I guess it beats "if it bleeds, it leads".

    Good stuff, Webby.

I thought it was about DJ Stuey, who has spent the first couple minutes of SC tslking about "Woody" and "T-Woody"

If we're talking about 'most annoying' and doesn't include ESPN anchors (too easy), the discussion begins and ends with
ol' George Michael with Ch. 4 in DC

My immediate reaction: BULLSHIT. No way!

Then you get the YouTube proof. I cannot believe he's allowed to do that -- Oahu or not. Goodness.

I thought the "24" ramblings were awesome. Local news doesn't have to be 100 percent, deadly serious all the time. I would totally watch that guy.

It's local television news. Nobody's watching except for old people who don't remember who they are and need someone to wipe up their drool.

And moreover, his ramblings -- at least the non-automated system ones -- are precisely the kind of good-natured banter (self-banter?) that most local newscasts painfully strive for.

Ok, more background from this fool - this is what he said on air in February when his station was sold.

Finally tonight, this has been a difficult day for most of us here at KHON2. It was the final day on the job for our general manager Rick Blangiardi, who refused to carry out the mass firing of over one third of our station employees as ordered by our new owners, who will take over tomorrow.

The firings are not a matter of cutting excess fat to improve efficiency; they will be a butchering of an already lean workforce that will remove muscle, bone, and vital organs.

A small percentage of the people fired will be replaced by automation, the rest will severely reduce our ability to serve the community in the manner in which you, and we have become accustom.

The new owners have changed the name of their company from SJL to Montecito. It is a virtual company, with no office building, that specializes in buying and selling TV stations. Their business plan for KHON2 calls for an immediate, drastic, across the board reduction of personnel in order to slash the payroll.

At the same time, the plan calls for a huge increase in advertising revenue to be generated by a sales department that is already far exceeding industry standards. In short, it is not a plan used by a quality broadcast company to foster a long-term commitment to its employees, or to the viewers it is charged with serving.

It is the sincere hope of all of us, who have worked long and hard to make this TV station what it is today, that the departure of Rick Blangiardi, who stood up for us while he was standing tall for quality television, it is our hope that his departure will not be in vain, that our new owners will reconsider their draconian plan and pledge to the people of this state that operating KHON in the best interest of the people of Hawaii is not only their number one goal, but also their number one priority.

For all of us at KHON2, thank you for joining us this evening, we hope to see you later tonight for our KHON2 news at 10.

A few days later, this drivel as to why he didn't quit. Apparently, he thought the world might stop without his ego on the air.

The most difficult question Moore had to answer, he said, was "How could I possibly work for owners I do not respect?"

Moore said in his staff e-mail that his conclusion, after much deliberation, was: "The owners are not KHON2. We, the people who work here are KHON2. I would not be working FOR THE OWNERS (his capitalization).

"I would be working FOR OUR VIEWERS, and WITH fellow employees I deeply respect (his capitalization). I have decided not to let our owners drive me out of KHON2."

Though he reached a different decision from those who resigned last week, Moore said: "I have the utmost respect for my friends and colleagues who chose their course of action.

"Like all of you, I am deeply saddened and angry that ... our new owners have put us in this terrible position. It is wrong, and none of us deserve it."

He also laid blame on the station's seller, Indiana-based Emmis Communications Corp., "who chose to sell us to the highest bidder, without any regard for our well-being or that of our viewers," he said.

Excuse me while I go vomit.
I wonder if the fact that he had a no-compete and his ego would have been off Hawaii TV for 4 years may have played a part of our dear TV God gracing them all by deciding not to resign.
