    Back in the early to mid-1990s, when I worked at a small weekly in Iowa, my owner/publisher bought me a new tire when a dog bit through one on my car (one of my interesting animal stories) while I was on the way back from something work related.

    That must have been one hell of a dog to chew a hole in a car tire. (Either that or the tire wasn't worth jack in the first place.)
