Movie scenes that make you cry

The last scene from A River Runs Through It:

The end of Dead Poets Society:

    "Thank you boys. Thank you."

The end of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind:

And for some stupid reason, the end of the Wedding Singer. It gets me every fucking time. I don't even really know why. Curses.

As for television, I'm even more of a wuss to admit this, and I'm forfeiting all my cool points, but...

The ending of the episode of Friends with the prom video. Every time Rachel walks across the room, it just slays me. I cannot watch it without crying. I know people talk all kinds of glorious shit about Friends, but damn I'm feeling for Ross when he's at the top of the stairs and he's telling himself, "Be cool, be cool."

I'm rollling downward over the tree's bark, as well.

That's it... the same song playing after Dylan's new bride was gunned down.

Rudy gets me when they start chanting his name. I think it's the music more than anything, because I can hear those strains anywhere (they were in a Disney commercial not long ago) and start bawling.

"Don't you talk to Billy Idol that way."

One thing I love about Sandler and Tarantino is how they dredge up familiar folks from the way-back machine.

As good as movie music gets.

No one yet has mentioned "Best Years of Our Lives"?

There are a couple of serious contenders in that one.

    Two scenes in Fandango:

In the middle of the movie when Costner yells, "To us and that, and privileges of youth. Here's to us and what we were.
    "And what we'll be."

And the last scene when Kevin Costner is sitting on the hill overlooking San Elizario.

It also got dusty when Wallace was killed in The Wire. I also almost wept with rage when Bodie bought it.

Agree with Simon... One of the 10 worst movies I've ever seen in a theater...

For me it's the D'Angelo-Gatsby scene and, of course, Ray Cole's wake:

Fenian, I wish I could make you watch three seasons of The Wire just so you could appreciate this scene as much as I'm convinced you would.

I cried during Rudy because I had just spent two hours watching one of the worst sports movies of all-time...

One of the best moments of my career was when I got to interview the real Rudy (total douche) and I actually told him I hated the movie... He was such a douche that the company that brought him in to speak wanted me to print the rider that he had which listed all of his demands. If you saw it, you would think Muhammad Ali was coming in...
