Other than having Mike instead of Joel, your avatar is perfect, Killick.

When I interviewed him (this was probably 1997 or 1998) I walked out of his dressing room and one of the PR guys noticed me rolling my eyes. He said, "Didn't like him?" and I was immediately embarrassed because he could tell by the look on my face...

He motioned for me to follow him into another room where he went on and on for almost an hour over what an asshole Rudy was and how rude he was to the workers and how he had a very strict policy about how anything that was to be autographed had to be set up a certain way in the dressing room and how he yelled at some lady who approached him in the hallway...

This was a company that brings in people to speak several times a year. The same year they had Rudy, they also had Jimmy Carter and Henry Kissinger and one other year they had Christopher Reeve after he had the accident...

He swears to this day that Rudy is the biggest asshole he's ever dealt with...

You know what gets me in that flick? The little girl singing. Yup. Just when she starts, and they show the crowd's reax, and the look on Emma Thompson's face like someone just knocked the wind out of her... I get chills. Wonder whatever happened to that little girl. She could really sing. Thought she was going to be HUGE.

Someone mentioned "My Life." Absolute rainmaker.
"Saving Pvt. Ryan" -- Miller to Ryan: "Earn this." Damn.
Someone mentioned the end of "Going My Way." Damned straight. Great call.
"Message in a Bottle" -- Damn you, Costner. "Wanna have a catch?" wasn't good enough for you? You've gotta make my cry TWICE?

It is a bit therapeutic to read this thread. Here I thought I was the only sentimental idiot who got a little misty at flicks.

(And thanks for the avatar shoutout, Bubs)

I completely forgot Band of Brothers. That entire series is stunning ... acting, filmmaking, writing.

I'll say it again: Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg are amazing.

    Never saw The Terminal.

But someone said it earlier -- the war scenes, any war scene -- gets almost everyone's tear ducts going big time 99.9% of the time.

The end of Ice Storm when Elijah Wood gets electrocuted should be on this list as well...

    I love that movie.

"Captain, it is I, Ensign Pulver, and I just threw your stinkin' palm tree overboard! Now what's all this crud about no movie tonight?"

"Project X" when the chimps are exposed to radiation or some other kind of nuclear shit and some of them start dying. The expression on Virgil's face opened the floodgates.

My senior year of high school my football team saw Boyz N the Hood together...

There was not a dry eye when Ricky got killed...
