It doesn't make it any less touching. It wasn't the plot twist...it was the dinner. Him putting up with all of it, all the forgetting, all the anger, all the mood swings....for that 45 seconds of bliss. And knowing he'd start all over again the next day.

That, and their final night. Just knowing.

I bawl. Like a baby. Every time.

 

really just the last scene; how i want to go out, arm in arm with the love of my life.

and the movie, if you can get past the chickflickish of it, is well done.

Just watched Forrest Gump for the billionth time, and the ending gets me every damn time. Why does Jenny have to die? :'(

 

because she was a whore who caught HIV.

 

Hell, I think every guy has had a "Jenny," some chick who you would do anything for, who takes advantage of your feelings but never truly reciprocates. I'm glad she died. While Forrest was up to his knees in rice paddies slugging it out with Charlie, hippies like her were back in the States , smoking grass and listening to Beatles albums. Ahhhhhhhhhh! Ahhhhhh...

 

i guess that was the nice way of saying what i said.

Not that that's a bad thing.
The movie sounds pretty lame to me, though.
I get teary eyed at the end of Dead Poets Society...
"Oh Captain my Captain"

And I still cry whenever I watch the end of E.T...doesn't matter how many times I've seen it.

 

While I don't usually like "you're a girl" as an insult, I've found that in recent years guys have become more like girls while the girls are able to "man up" better than most guys.
