    Excellent, and Oscar-worthy.

Okay, so people know I am banning Joaquin Phoenix because of his antics with a muchmusic reporter at the TIFF.

A buddy shows me just now another interview with ETALK on CTV. When he was asked about his brother, he told the reporter to get the fuck out of here and stopped the interview.

Now, reporter for ETalk (different one) talks about the new movie and he asked him how Phoenix's movie is different from other action movies and Phoenix responds, "How the fuck should I know?"

Classy buddy...might I suggest that you stop coming to Canada and being anal retentive towards Canadian enterntainment reporters.

And you all wonder why I am boycotting his flicks.

Anyone else excited for 30 Days of Night next week? It's probably just the geek in me, but the trailers look like it got the gist of the comics. Here's hoping Josh Hartnett can not ruin it.

I'm dying to see Into the Wild (loved the book and love the soundtrack), but it has been out for nearly a month now and hasn't come within 100 miles of where I live -- which is a city of more than 150,000 people.

    Frustrating.

Completely agree. The nearest "art house" is roughly an hour from me and it's only 4 or 5 screens. It takes a while for movies like that to get a stone's throw to me, too.

You said Tommy Lee. I posted a picture of Tommy Lee, the rocker, not Tommy Lee Jones, the thespian.

    *sigh*

Watched a few flicks last night, "The Holiday" and "All the Kings Men."

The Holiday -- chick flick'ish but a decent viewing. Cameron Diaz is uber-cute, and funny several times. She's naturally funny. Kate Winslet is cute, too. Hadn't seen her in anything since Titanic. Jack Black and Jude Law are in it, too. Jack Black seemed wrong cast for it, but he stole a few moments while trying to sneak into Winslet's knickers, which he eventually does. 3 stars out of 5.

All the Kings Men -- lo and behold Winslet and Law are in this, too. Law does a good job. Powerful story, and Sean Penn does a good job playing Willie Stark, though it takes about 20 minutes for you to accept Penn trying to pull off a Cajun accent. As the movie keeps going I keep thinking, "James Carville really oughtta have played the lead role." All the Cajun accents (Penn, Law, Gandolfini) sounded so forced and fake. Carville's one of my favorite orators and easily could've pulled off the role. Lo and behold, he was an executive producer to the movie. The story was screenwritten from the book by Robert Penn Warren. Some fantastic lines throughout the movie. Oh, and "Kelly Leak" is in it, too, playing the governor's right-hand strongman, nicknamed "Sugar." Definitely recommended. 4 stars out of 5.

    Xan --
The original, with Broderick Crawford, is better.
And the book is better than either of them.
