Cool, I'll try to find it. Thanks. I have two more movies on tap for tonight, but can't remember what they are; bought 4 for $20 at Blockbuster. One of them has Russell Crowe, as a cutthroat businessman or something, who moves to Ireland or Scotland or wherever and finds tranquility. I think a woman's involved.

And the other movie ... can't remember.

Reposted from my attempt at starting an individual thread:

Gone Baby Gone is getting all kinds of early buzz as a really good film. I love Dennis Lehane, both for his books and for his contribution to The Wire.

If you can get past your hatred for director Ben Affleck (I actually still like him a lot and am glad he's got a shot at redemption) supposedly it's being mentioned as one of the best films of the year.

    Story of about Affleck:

AP review calling it a really good flick:

    Herald calling breathtaking:

Michael Clayton was thrilling in a dialogue driven way. Rewarding. Clooney is his usual serious smirky way.

The newborn is keeping the wife and I from watching any movies recently, so I appreciate the comments and suggestions on this thread.

Having said that, I find it hard to believe anyone would give a positive review for the Holiday. Even my chick-flick loving wife thought that movie sucked.

Boo to The Holiday. I "watched" it a while back with the Lady Friend and it's delightfully annoying and far too long. I think it's clost to, if not over, 2 hours. But, that's just me.

I'm really excited about Gone Baby Gone. Regardless of Ben, Casey Affleck is a great actor.

I saw the Holiday in the theaters (it was the wife's turn to pick). Not awful as chick flicks go. I actually thought Jack Black was perfectly cast and I really liked the performances.

But it was definitely too long.

I too enjoyed The Holiday (ok, I didn't HATE it), but then again I'd watch Kate Winslet in anything. Love, love, love her.

    3 movies last night:

Alpha Dog: Sad (true) story, but terrible performances except for Ben Foster, who is unbelievable. I haven't checked, but I think he also plays the uber-badass in 3:10 to Yuma, another unbelievable performance. He's as good as there is in cinema right now. Intense dude. 1 star out of 5.

Children of Men: Dude. Great movie. 4.5 stars out of 5.

Being John Malkovich: What. The. Hell! What a fantastic movie! Funny and utterly strange. Malkovich is great. I had no idea Cameron Diaz was in it, too. Cusack was good. Great time watching it. 4 stars out of 5.
