Loved the movie. Strong acting everywhere, actually. Good movies, even if they're long, are worth it. I'll be buying this when it comes out on DVD. I'll also be picking up the soundtrack.

You think that's bad? I was channel surfing and stopped on "Stick It" for 15 minutes. Whoever peed on Jeff Bridges' rug to get him to star in this dreck is beyond me. Missy Peregrym ain't bad looking, though.

Saw an exclusive advance screening of this and I would be surprised if this movie, like Jesse James, doesn't get Oscar consideration. Clooney is picking the right movies. Cute story. If anyone watches TMZ.com daily show, a German fan was waiting around a place Clooney was at, hoping to get a snapshot of the two. Finally, Clooney comes out of the place and obliges the German fan's request. Guess what happens, as he is about to take the picture, his camera doesn't work. So Clooney asks a paparazzi photographer to take the picture for him from their camera and make arrangements for the fan to get the pic. So picture gets taken.

After Clooney went into his car that was waiting, German fan checks camera and then it says it's working.

On another front, I want to see Rendition. It looks fantastic.

Ryan Gosling bowed out of the movie he was supposed to do because of creative differences with Peter Jackson.

There is talk that Gosling is in line to portray Kurt Cobain in the newest bioflick. I was trying to envision this last night and while I think Gosling will do a great portrayal, the actual look Gosling may have could look potentially like Kid Rock's arrest picture. Oh my god! I hope Gosling looks better than that. Why any woman would find Kid Rock appealing is beknownst to me.

Another movie that I would like to see when it comes out in November is Lions for Lambs, with Tom Cruise and Meryl Streep. Robert Redford produced it and he also acts in it. Even though Cruise is a little nuts, I think this flick will be another Oscar contender. Senator Jasper Irving (Cruise) is about to give a major story to journalist (Streep) that will affect people's lives. Three character stories are intertwined into this story and the mission in Afghanistan is the theme of the movie.

Something seems off about Lions for Lambs. I watched the trailer and immediately thought "Big names, big issue, crappy movie." I wouldn't be surprised if it's a dud. Got the same feeling from Charlie Wilson's War, but think I'm more likely to be wrong on that one.

Watched Taxi Driver again last night.

    Great flick.

Has any movie trailer done a better job to tell viewers "THIS IS GOING TO SUCK" than the ads for "Fred Claus?" I'm glad Giamatti and Vaughn are getting paid big for this flick, but man does this look like its going to blow. Which is typical of the first Christmas movie to hit the theaters each year.

I really feel like they're just trying to play off of any success that "Elf" had by following the formula of "very successful comedian that appeals to adults + child comedy + PG rating = $" I can see this making money. I cannot see this being good. At all.

I am, however, looking forward to "Outsourced," whenever that comes out.

But at least we've got another Vince Vaughn Christmas movie to look forward to in 2008: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0369436/

While watching "Across the Universe" last night, I thought that Joe Anderson as strung-out Max was a perfect lookalike for Cobain. Nothing on IMDB in that shot, but he's on the left in this shot:

BigSleeper, I totally disagree with you, especially if the Oscar talk is true about this flick.

Del, oh my god! Dead ringer for a young looking Cobain. Totally forgot about him. He would be prefect.

Babel: Utter crap. Half a star, and only that because that deaf-mute Japanese girl did a great job.

Bobby: Utter crap. Half a star, and only because the last 10 minutes was played with a great intensity. Too bad the entire movie didn't emote that kind of intensity.
