Finally got around to seeing 30 Days of Night this week and it was actually better than I thought it would be. Josh Hartnett can't really do much aside from brood and be stoic, but it was entertaining, had a good deal of violence/gore without going over the top and did a good enough job at following the comic.

Now, I just have to get around to seeing American Gangster.

I just saw I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Anyone else seen No Country for Old Men? I'm not sure it's opened nationwide yet. really really liked it. The villain is certainly one of the more memorable characters in a long, long time. Actually, all three leads are really good, Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee Jones being the other two.

I'm pretty sure that this was mentioned elsewhere, but it kills me every time I think of this when I keep hearing great stuff about the movie: http://www.esquire.com/features/esquire-100/joshbrolin1007

I saw Casino Royale for the first time last night and I really liked it.

Are any more Bond movies scheduled to come out soon?

Maybe this story is true, but Josh Brolin was phenomenal in this film. I can't imagine a much older actor playing that role.

I saw "Mean Creek" yesterday with some friends. Horrible, horrible movie. Take "The Boxcar Children" and mix it with "Deliverance".

I hadn't seen the first one. The second one has been out for a while.

A year from now: http://imdb.com/title/tt0830515/ ... can't wait after Casino Royale. Fantastic movie.

In the meantime, I highly suggest Layer Cake to any fans of Daniel Craig. Probably one of my favorite movies with an amazing soundtrack.

Brolin has been on a bit of a roll.

Last time I heard buzz like this was for The English Patient.

I have never been more let down.

    Loved Craig as Bond.

One of the few who thought Eva Green was underwhelming compared with Bond chicks of the past.

I read that in the mag last month and I'm not certain I believe it. The Coen brothers and Brolin were on Charlie Rose for about 45 minutes the other night and the subject never came up. And I can't imagine anyone over 40 in the role.

I can't wait to see the movie.
