I usually watch a movie to help me fall asleep.

    i can never sleep well.

so i'm going to start "kettle of fish" with matt modine and gina gershon. maybe that will tire me enough to sleep for 4 or 5 hours.

I prefer movies with heavy dialog to put me to sleep. The less action, the better. I just want to hang onto the words until I'm out. Kevin Smith movies are my Nyquil. Of course, it helps that I've just about memorized them by now.

I don't know if this film has been talked about on this thread or elsewhere on SportsJournalists.com, but "Juno" looks really promising judging from the trailer. It's been earning some huge buzz in advance screenings and I was wondering if anyone has caught it yet. It's supposed to be this year's "Little Miss Sunshine"...

Absolutely killer cast: Michael Cera (one of my favorites), Jason Bateman, Jennifer Garner, J.K. Simmons, Rainn Wilson, Allison Janney.

Very pumped for Juno. I read a great interview with the writer, a former stripper who is highly entertaining.

Of course, after Hard Candy, I'm not sure I can watch a movie with Ellen Page without wondering whether she's going to cut off some guy's junk at any moment.

Back in the Navy, we had a movie rating system based on the "tit-second" based on how many boobs are on the screen for how much time. Oh yeah, and a movie's no good without guns, car chases and nekkid women. If you substitute horses for car chase, it's OK. (And no Tijuana donkey jokes, please.)

Looks much deeper, dramatically and comedically than LMS.

    Can't wait.

JK Simmons and Alison Janney .... perfect

the lives of others ... excellent film. not a fan of subtitles, bu this one really draws you in. also makes you wonder what kind of stasi we have over here with the erosion of our civil liberties. 4.5 stars.

Another positive: From the director of "Thank You For Not Smoking." And how could you not mention Ellen Page? She's fantastic.

Just saw "Before The Devil Knows You're Dead." Extremely well-made and well-acted, but just punishingly depressing.

On the bright side, I was pleasantly surprised by copious amounts of naked Marisa Tomei -- who looks incredible at 43. This would be George Costanza's favorite movie ever.
