Greatest action film ever made. I thought it was so cool when my sister got a job at a law firm in that Century City building used in the film.

The drunken, lathered application of special effects have really hurt the genre.

shoot'em up ... minus-1000 stars, yet i like clive owen. few funny moments, but the title tells you everything you need to know about the movie.

Watched The Family Guy movie and Coffee and Cigarettes last night.
The Family Guy movie was funny, but not as good as the half-hour shows.
Coffee and Cigarettes was good, though I was souped up on cold medicine so I don't think it was as good to me as it could have been. I think I need to rewatch it because I am pretty sure it is a movie I will enjoy. Basically one that doesn't have a plot line and is about whatever you want it to be about.

Saw "Walk Hard" the other day. Very funny and thoroughly entertaining, particularly when compared to the pieces of shit spoofs like Scary Movie 4 or Epic Movie, some of the worst movies of recent years that just try to shove as many recognizable parts of a movie in as possible. Reilly is magnificent as Dewey Cox and this music satire actually works alot better than it may sound on paper. The writing is witty, fun, and somehow has that Apatow freshness to it. The music is really good too. Cox's transformations from the 50's to the 60s to the 70s (especially his Bob Dylan phase) to present day and his struggle with addiction to almost every drug are hilarious. I don't think the people who made this movie could have done a much better job than they did, keeping in mind the limitations of the genre.

The very funny cameos are endless such as Jonah Hill, Frankie Muniz, Harold Ramis, Jack White, Jack Black, Paul Rudd, one of my personal favorites Jane Lynch, etc. Plus Jenna Fischer is looking absolutely amazing. Definitely a fun and pleasant surprise and this is from someone who has not yet seen Walk the Line and didn't think I'd like this.

Just watched Rescue Dawn, Elton Brand's production.

Christian Bale (who reminds me of Tim Matheson 30 years ago) and the always-watchable-for-me Stevie Zahn.

Really takes you there, though it had to bail out on its full awful potential in some spots, saving a PG-13.

    Good film.

Saw "There Will Be Blood" today. I agree with a review I saw that said it's not for the regular popcorn crowd, but serious movie people will love it. The story doesn't really progress well nor end satisfactorily, but just watching Daniel Day Lewis absolutely chew up the scenery for 2 1/2 hours was worth every penny. If he doesn't win the Oscar, I'll be shocked.

And what a total departure and triumph for PT Anderson, who I almost worship. Yet I never thought he had this in him.

Finally saw I Am Legend this afternoon. It started off slow but as the movie progressed it brought up many moral and ethical issues. The final half-hour however, for me, was so powerful because it really brought to light the issue of faith.

Plus, it was the type of sci-fi/horror film that left just enough to the imagination.

Watched a movie called "Cashback" last night. It was one of the weirdest movies I have ever seen. Especially when the main character turned into a sicko pervert and started undressing ladies. Just really bizarre. Though it did have a Trainspotting feel to it, what with the main character floating around and whatnot.
