Why haven't they played sisters yet?

Just finished watching Capote. That was a fucked up movie. I've read the book, though it was awhile ago and I don't remember too much of it. My question is this: How much of the movie was based on fact? Because Capote came out looking like a real asshole of a journalist.
Anyway, good flick. I may have to rewatch it or at least reread the book.

Breaking Away on the tube now.... always wanted to swim in that rock quarry.

Seemed like a great place to find some solitude.

Saw Atonement today. An interesting film, especially for someone who hadn't read the book. Had a hard time getting involved in the movie. Very predictable and familiar. At times I thought it was meant to be a parody of those English films that always seem to get a lot of Oscar talk.
Some very cliched filmmaking, though the five and half-minute tracking shot at Dunkirk is amazing. Mostly I had a hard time caring about anyone in this movie.

I'd agree that it was hard to care about many of the characters, unless you're talking about the leads.

Young Briony, I liked a lot. Teenage Briony, I wanted to drop-kick.

I'd still like to see this genre get the "Scary Movie" treatment.

And I meant all the characters, who were never able to get beyond their "character-ness"
I never saw a trailer for the film but I imagine it went something like this..
'Divided by social class, unified by their passion, torn apart by tragedy and separated by war, two people will live the world's greatest love story, based on a lie."

Don't forget the obligatory "In a world..."

Saw an interesting fil On Demand... a real cinema-verite piece called The Killing of John Lennon.

Has a very authentic feel to it.

The December 8 depiction is realling captivating viewing, though the rest of it, us subject to the ravings of Chapman almost wholly, was laborious.

I just saw two good movies. Didn't have high expectations for either, but both were great.

The Kingdom with Jamie Fox, Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman and Chris Cooper. Directed by Peter Berg. Not a thinking-man's movie, just a simple action movie that Berg did very well. Jason Bateman deserves some sort of Comeback of the Decade award with his work on Arrested Development, The Ex, this movie and Juno. Also Jeremy Piven has a small role. As do a couple of folks from Friday Night Lights.

Sunshine. Good sci-fi flick that's right in my wheelhouse. I'm telling ya. Danny Boyle rarely disappoints me. I think he's probably in my Top 5 of movie directors. Shallow Grave, Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, Millions. This guy is good and Sunshine continues the goodness.

I'm moving Sunshine to the top of my Netflix, k_m. The more I hear about it the more it interests me. And if you like good sci-fi and haven't seen Serenity, run, don't walk.

Finally saw The Lives of Others the other night. It wasn't the transcendent experience I'd been led to expect, but it was very good.
