Watched American Gangster- liked it. Well acted and created a good feel for the time period with outfits and sound track.

Denzell seemed a bit to polished for his part as a ganster but was good non the less. Russell Crowe was great.

Suppose to be true story but from what I've read movie has little resemblence to real deal .

Once you've seen Training Day, what's the point of watching Denzel as a heavy in anything else?

To me, Denzel should have won the Oscar for Malcom X. Training Day was lame. I don't know why they didn't twist the ending and have Ethan Hawke's character be an Internal Affairs officer. When the movie ended I was left with the feeling "that's it?"

Denzel as gangter had same feel to it as Denzel - crooked cop.

(Note to Boom: Training Day, that's the movie we were trying to think of...phew, it was driving me nuts.)

Just watched "Into the Arms of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport."

    I'm now crying. Have been.

Just finished watching "In the Valley of Elah." What a sad movie. Very well made, and Tommy Lee Jones gave a great performance, but a very sad.

Semi-Pro is better than I thought it would be. Much better than Blades of Glory and Talladega Nights.

Watched "The Prestige" today on the plane, and I thought it was pretty imaginative and well-done. You figure it out before you're probably supposed to, but not bad.

I haven't been so pleasantly surprised by a film in a long while.

Will Ferrell is getting dangerously close to coming down with a major case of what I call "Carreyitis." When you play the same character over and over again in every movie you star in, people get sick of it. And on the flip side, when you take on a role that goes against type, it completely backfires.

I think his case of Carreyitis reared its head at the box office this weekend. It's been awhile since a Ferrell vehicle had a <$20mm opening weekend.
