"the band's visit" ... it's about israelis, egyptians and human nature. so many layers. as a jew, all i keep thinking about is "let my people go." ok, back to the flick.

  2. Watched Resurrecting the Champ

    Enjoyed it.
I thought it was a good movie and a reminder on checking with sources.

yeah, that one. we have a lot of the same tastes in movies, "love, actually" notwithstanding (terrible flick).

    anyhoo ...

"my name is bill" ... aaron eckhart, jessica alba, others. not that good, but worth a view if you're bored.

Here's a film I want to see: Frozen River

Melissa Leo is a great actor. Her Kay Howard in Homicide is still one of the best female characters in TV and her role in 21 Grams was breathtaking.

After a summer of movies mostly geared to 14 year old boys, this will be a welcome relief.

Opens today in NY & LA, presumably everywhere else in a week or so.

Bale hasn't been involved in many bad movies. But for fun, you can always watch Reign of Fire.

    4 months, 3 weeks, and 2 days ...

if you like romanian-subtitled movies about abortion, this flick is for you. it's unique and raw. abortion is illegal in romania. the story is about a college girl and her roommate go about getting one performed illegally. this isn't for everyone. you really have to enjoy cinema to sit through it. the end was strange.

Who doesn't like those? it's like the teen sex romp -- always in fashion.

American Psycho was pretty bad, but I am a Bale fan. If you like his stuff, check out "The Machinist." Pretty good flick and Bale makes Tom Hanks in the second half of "Cast Away" look fat.

I saw The Machinist a few days ago. Thought it was dumb. I thought Bale getting down to, what seemed like 8 pounds, was awesome (heard it was a yogurt and coffee diet for 3 months), but story did nothing for me and I turned it off 20 minutes before the ending.

Yesterday I rented Rescue Dawn. Looks cheesy, but I want to get through Bale's tomb.
