benjamin button is going to win the oscar for best movie.

just saw it. yes it's long, but there's no wasted scene. 8-10-12 vivid "moments" within a moment.

Just watched the Simpsons Movie for the first time. Great, great flick. I was surprised at the amount of, I guess you could call it adult humor. Bart's penis? Really? The Spider-pig stuff, which I thought was going to be stupid based on the trailers, was actually really enjoyable. Overall, I'd give it an 8 out of 10.

I really loved that movie too. When Homer and Spiderpig almost kiss while watching Bumblebee Man, I lose it everytime. And I like when Homer's falling into the sinkhole while giving the town the middle finger and the crowd starts clawing at the top of his head.

It must have been hard for the writers to have to give lines to almost every series regular. Most of them were really funny from Ralph Wiggum to Kent Brockman to Cletus.

Just saw The Spirit. If you didn't like Sin City, don't bother . . . but if you have a warm spot for Sin City . . . while this isn't as good, overall (the first half-hour or so is heavyhanded, if not downright dreadful), the final hour's solid, and it's much, much funnier than SC -- including some great visual humor.

Revolutionary Road - This is NOT date movie material. Married couples should especially avoid if you're planning a night out. It's basically a marriage snuff film. While the film is well-done, there's really nothing "good" about it. It will leave you feeling rotten inside.

On the other hand, if you're feeling bad about being single this will cheer you right up!

Pretty much how it reads, off the reviews. No way I'm taking my significant other to see the thing. Having seen the previews, she's already observed that "(RR) looks
like Mad Men without the laughs."

Went on a bit of a European comedy trip tonight. Watched Eurotrip and Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo.

I'd seen Eurotrip before and it was still really good, albeit not as great as the first time I watched it. Solid flick with decent gags and a catchy tune.

As for Deuce, wow what a piece of shit movie. I knew it was going to be bad, so I wasn't expecting Gone With The Wind or anything, but that may well be one of the worst movies, pound-for-pound, that I have ever seen. I wanted to turn it off five minutes in but kept thinking to myself: "it's got to get better". It didn't.

    Eurotrip: 3 of 5.
    Deuce Bigalow: -10 of 5

Have to agree with both sentiments. Eurotrip is a fun watch, but European Gigolo is far worse than the original (which isn't good by any means, but is a passable comedy) and is without question one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

It's like the writer got drunk and angry at his life, wrote the script to be a giant "F-you" to the company in charge of the movie and they said "Wow, this is good".

I saw Benjamin Button and thought it was pompous, tedious and obvious.

Whatever they were selling, I wasn't buying. Your mileage might vary, obviously
