I see those everywhere, I might have to give that a shot.

Dreamer_Dad often is the main renter of movies in the family here. He picked up Burn After Reading and Eagle Eye.

I know what to expect from the latter, but I've heard some great things about Burn After Reading.

It's good if you want to watch a movie and you know you're going to do it that night. A bit of a pain to return it the next day if you're busy, but it's like all rental places, you've just got to make the effort.

I can't tell you how many duds I've avoided shelling out good movie to see thanks to Redbox and how many films I'm glad I gave a shot for the same reason.

I used to have Netflix, but I never used it. So this sounds like a cool alternative.

Netflix is good if you've got a lot of time on your hands and a slew of things you want to watch. I'm starting to have less and less of each and will likely stop Netflix for a month or two to let things catch up.

I had it when I moved to a new area and then when I met people and started to hang out with friends, I would drop it.

I used to have Netflix and then the poor college kid in me discovered the sweet, free allure of BitTorrents.

Netflix is great, although they occasionally took an extra day to deliver movies. I used their fantastic Streaming Now section more than the actual delivery service, which was usually relegated to films that just hit DVD.

Redbox is a much better alternative than a video store too. Very convenient and hassle-free. They seem to be popping up in more and more places, from grocery stores to pharmacy chains to McDonalds.

Just saw "Seven Pounds." Pretty good flick, though it wasn't too hard to figure out what was going to happen. Despite figuring it all out pretty quickly, it was enjoyable going along for the ride.

My only real complaint is that they spent so much time focused on the Emily/Ben relationship that the other characters got short shrift. MILD SPOILER BELOW!!!!!!

The way they established how two of the characters were good people was rather simplistic. We got almost an entire movie discovering what kind of person Emily was, and we got two scenes that lasted probably a grand total of three minutes to find out about Ezra and the hockey coach.

    SPOILER OVER

Anyway, I give it three out of five stars. Pretty good, definitely worth renting, but not a must-see.

Saw Slumdog Millionaire tonight. Best movie I've seen all year. Brilliance, an absolutely perfect film. Like a buffett: action, suspense, romance, comedy, drama, social significance, music, dancing. Rich with characters, a great premise with solid performances throughout. It's this years Pan's Labyrinth, without the fantastical elements.
I knew it would be good, but it was even better than I thought. I'm not a big clapper at the end of movies, but I clapped, the entire theater clapped.

If it doesn't get an Oscar nom, there is no reason for me to watch the show again.

I barely recovered from Crash over Brokeback.

This would be at least twice as bad.

Ditto. A perfect film. They don't make movies like this very often. Reminded me WHY I got to movies.

Also thought it was brutal, in the sense that many of the slum sequences were hard to watch, because you know they were realistic. Gave me slight moments of "I don't want to live on a planet where children live this way".

Maybe I'm just a widdle baby.

The visuals, acting, characters, dialogue...Benjamin Button is a sprawling masterpiece of modern cinema.
