    I can't wait for Rendition...

Reese Witherspoon, Alan Arkin, Meryl Streep, Peter Sarsgaard and Jake Gyllenhaal...

    That's not a bad cast...

I have passes to see Jane Austen's Book Club on Thursday. This movie has Jimmy Smits, Hugh Dancy, Maria Bello and Amy Brenneman as part of the cast. Not sure if this will be a good flick.

I can't wait to see Michael Clayton with George Clooney, Sindey Pollack, Tilda Swinton and Tom Wilkinson.
The movie was supposed to close out the Atlantic Film Fest but they had to replace the film due to distributor issues with Sleuth.

Heartbreak Kid looks funny...the Ben Stiller flick. With the Farelly brothers directing, it will be a good one.

I agree that Feast of Love looks great. Morgan Freeman doesn't make too many bad movies, and I love Greg Kinnear.

The one I'm really looking forward to is Atonement with Kiera Knightley. What a terrific read the book was. Hope the movie is just as good.

Two thumbs up for "In the Shadow of the Moon," the documentary about NASA's missions to the moon. Very interesting, lots of great footage that I had never seen before and surprisingly funny interviews with Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins (he's hysterical) of Apollo 11. Neil Armstrong didn't participate, unfortunately.

    Spent last night watching movies.

The Departed: Eh, it's OK. Like Mystic River, this blockbuster lineup of Hollywood greats tried too hard save Leo. I like Leo in almost everything he does. Anyhoo, the movie is OK, has its moments but isn't the blockbuster I thought it would be considering the hubbub people gave it. 2.5 stars out of 5.

Black Snake Moan: I don't even know how to explain this one. First, what's up with Samuel Jackson in "snake" movies? Snakes on a Plane, Black Snake Moan ... So, if you like watching sexy pixies like Christina Ricci chained up in her pretty white panties and a cutoff shirt, this is for you. Acting was a bit weak, though Jackson is OK. And there's one animalistic moment, about 6 seconds long, in which Ricci ushers a teenage black boy into manhood. You don't see sex, but you see Ricci rip off her shirt and utterly "maneater" the boy. Great great 6 seconds worth of lust and feminine animalism. Probably the best part of the whole movie. 3 stars out of 5.

Next up is Breach. I hope that's worth it, or I'll have wasted $14 at Blockbuster.

I saw Eastern Promises last night. Excellent flick, but parts of it made my date reeeaaaalllyyyy uncomfortable. I didn't realize there was male nudity in it. I really should read reviews, I guess.

    Saw kingdom the other day...

It had a solid storyline, but got caught up in being an action movie. I would have liked to see the relationships between the american and Saudi characters explored more.

    But still, worth your time.

Started watching The Brown Bunny again today before work. Vincent Gallo wrote, starred, directed, produced and edited the flick. It's even more interesting the second time around.

Kind of fucked up what he does to the first girl, Violet from the gas station. But I so understand how he would do it. Then the scene with a burnt-out rest-stop hooch (Cheryl Tiegs) is a bit on the freaky side.

Saving the rest of the movie till tonight.

Saw Munich for the first time last night.
Man, that movie was fucked up.
Very disturbing, yet very interesting flick. I really enjoyed it, as much as you can enjoy a movie with so much death.

  10. You can start carving Tommy Lee's name onto the Best Actor statue tomorrow.
In The Valley Of Elah hit me like an eight-ton brick.
Powerful, mesmerizing, all those Roeper adjectives.
And Susan Sarandon, who's in the flick for about 10 minutes total, was astonishing.
    Go see it. Now.
