I don't do blood/gore, so no Saving Private Ryan, none of the Rockys, etc.

I am a huuuuuuuuuge nerd so I've seen and read all of the Harry Potters and Lord of the Rings, plus seen all of the Star Wars. The superhero genre is not my thing though, so I've seen the Christian Bale Batmans, one Iron Man, one Avengers, Guardians and that's it.

I was forcibly dragged to see Furious 8 and was like...eh. They drive around in cars. A lot. To me, some of the best movies made in the last 10-15 years have been animated ones.

Actually, it wasn't until about 1995 I started catching up on movies at all.

In 1995, I had never seen (in addition to the list above):

    Any Godfather movie
    2001: A Space Odyssey
    The Empire Strikes Back
    Citizen Kane
    Lolita
    Dr. Strangelove
    Breakfast at Tiffany's
    On The Beach (1959)
    To Kill A Mockingbird
    Cool Hand Luke
    Hud
    Slap Shot
    Shawshank
    The Exorcist
    All The President's Men
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
    M*A*S*H (1969)
    Easy Rider
    Midnight Cowboy
    Platoon
    Full Metal Jacket

Since then, through the magic of cable and DVDs, I've knocked all of those off and actually become quite a maven ona few of 'em.

I'm curious why you refused to watch Star Wars when you were younger? It was definitely THE movie to see when it came out, and it's a great movie for young people.

That asked, I, surprisingly considering that I generally like this type of stuff, have not seen any of the Harry Potter movies.

You should probably give yourself a few hours for that.

Wasn't in it then and it carried over throughout the years.

I've never watched more than a minute or two of It's A Wonderful Life.

The only movie I've seen in my adult life that I cried after.

Life is Beautiful is that movie for me.

I tried watching It's a Wonderful Life and couldn't stop laughing at the dance scene when the floor opened up and everyone jumped in the pool.

About both? Wouldn't say Almost Famous blows, but just an OK movie.

Almost Famous is a fantastic movie that really falls apart badly at the end.

Yeah, there are 3-4 different scenes it probably should have ended on (or been cut out).

And they probably should have had a post-credits scene of Stillwater reuniting in 2000 to play the oldies/casino/county fair circuit, all fiftyish and gray-haired.

Of those on the initial list: I've seen four — Forrest Gump, Titanic, original Jaws and original Rocky. The last time I was in a movie theater the price was probably $5. If you offered me 30 seconds and a million dollars to name the closest theater to my house, I wouldn't get it.
