The absurdity of Dances With Wolves is that the film is about a disillusioned white guy who tries to "find himself" by immersing himself into Native American culture, then proceeds to fall in love with the only white woman in the movie.

It's almost never on anymore, just because it's both old and wasn't that big a hit, but if "The Long Ships" is ever on, check it out. Richard Widmark as a Viking adventurer and Sydney Poitier as the Moorish Emperor in a swordplay flick. Two superb actors hamming it up to the max in ironic appreciation of a ridiculous script. Their contracts must've been large.

It was on Golf Channel last night when I got home from work. Watched the last 20 or so minutes.

Not a big golf fan, but I love that movie.

I caught the movie a few years back on one of the movie channels and it caused me to go out and buy the book and read it. If you haven't read the book, I recommend it.

old_tony, you must never leave the house. Except to work and shovel snow.

I don't think this one has been mentioned, but it might be No. 1 on any list I'd compile:

    The Magnificent Seven.

And if I happen to catch Bullitt early enough, I'll stick around for the Mustang/Charger chase scene.
