You are not out of bounds. I will not discuss it but you are not out of bounds.
I was surprised (and a little relieved) that it wasn't brought up when the story first came out. It certainly led to some interesting discussion at our joint (well, my former joint now).
I am eager to hear what people here have to say about this topic.

Good luck, Moddy. If you need help, just call somebody else because I will be goofing off. :D

Seriously, if I can help in any way, just ask.

I don't mind schools removing tattoos from media guides as long as they also are willing to give haircuts, adjust wardrobes and get ride of 5 o'clock shadow.

Or maybe they should all just put the studious walk-on on the cover.

    Congrats. Moddy.

The athletic director sounds like he'd be a great boss for Marquette's Buzz...

I'm not a big fan of tattoos. Still, I have no more right to ask someone to airbrush a tattoo than someone else has to tell me how to wear my hair. Or sneakers. Or anything else.

Next time, if some people are that uptight, put Maynor in the quad or some other university landmark wearing something so straight-laced that even preppy sorts roll their eyes.

Hey ... didn't say it was the right thing to do, but if it keeps the Photoshop airbrush out of some holier-than-thou's hands ...

Ridiculous ... and it obviously left Moddy and his charges holding the bag. Ugh ...

The kid has the tats. Period. You dont have to like it, but don't airbrush them out.
THe AD who decided to do that is a moran.

I remember when Michael Talley had one on his bicep playing for Michigan. I think it was of a gaming reference -- dice maybe. Steve Fisher had him cover it up with like a 3x4" bandage -- every game.

LeBron, in high school, same thing. As I recall, there was a team rule against displaying any ink.

And yeah, Mods, if you were working for people who thought like that ...

Best of luck, Moddy -- though you'll hardly need it.

Remember, tip liberally and keep all reciepts.

Sam summed up the tattoo story perfectly: Ridiculous.

The tattoo story reminds me of the time I did a media guide and the head coach/de facto GM demanded these two women appear on the cover. It was two women he and the idiot owner met at the local strip club (think of Tyla's sister on FNL with more mileage). I was gone from that gig before the guide hit the streets.
