Did any of you actually watch JBC? He had a decent offensive game, despised defense and hated rebounding. Poor comparison.

Greg Oden pulls hot girls from 19-35 every SINGLE day. Proveaby hot, demonstrably hot.

If Oden leads Ohio State to a title, why can't he be ready for the NBA? Carmelo did it.

If is the operative word here. Right now, he reminds me of a stoic Joe Barry Carroll. And for those of you who didn't know it, JBC had a houseboy during his NBA days. I don't know what he has now.

I didn't know Joe Barry Carroll had a houseboy, but I did see him play and he was just a finesse player who had no clue about defense. Greg Oden may not be the greatest center of all time, but I think when his NBA career is over he will be closer on the accomplishment line to Bill Russell than Joe Barry Carroll.

    Solid?
Yeah, like Shaquille has been "solid."

    Without digging through 4 pages......

Oden has no fire.....and he is in "college"

How much fire will he have when he's bringing in millions of dollars a year?

Chef, why does he have to play with fire? Why can't he have a business-like approach to what he does on the court?

This is the biggest horseshit reason that I've been hearing.
It's actually quite refreshing to see him play without tugging his jersey after every win, without talking trash with players or mugging for the cameras at every chance.
If a player does what I mentioned above, he's "disrespecting the game;" if he doesn't, he "has no fire." Bullshit.
Kevin McHale. Robert Parish. Tim Duncan. Hakeem Olajuwon. Any player before the 80s. They acted professionally. Why can't Oden?

I love this quote as well. I'm sure all of us took extremely difficult courses all four years in college. Never took a bowling class, or some floral arrangement class; but Oden takes a rock and roll history class and sociology 101 (which most freshmen at colleges across the country take) and it's a big fucking deal. While I disagree with Oden being given credit for sports, I can't blame him; how many of us took internships that gave us more than three credits? I know my intership gave be six per semester. Is that wrong? Was I in "college."

Exactly. It's also kind of hard to score when you hardly ever touch the ball.

He's better offensively than Ben Wallace today. He's also about a half-foot taller.
