Oh I had a full nastygram typed up with plenty of expletives and insinuations that probably would have crossed a line.

But it was a bit over the line and I do actually feel for what the youth are going through, so I went with a long winded tell of instead.

Ok I half take it back. I should have left well enough alone and I nearly convinced myself to do just that. I just didn't read Tap's comments that way and I'm reading too many things from scared teschers. Like I said, wish your daughter well and hope this ends soon.

I can take a lot of things. The high-fiving? Not so much.

Sure thing ... half a bottle of Chamisal Chardonnay later and I'm still crackling. Got any recommendations?

    Sure about that?
I care very much about others.
    * I wear a mask and observe social distancing.
    * I don't deny the existence of the virus.
    * I hope there is soon a safe, effective vaccine that people will agree to receive. When I heard about trials, I signed up immediately.

Before you accuse me of reveling in your daughter's misery, you should understand something else. The fulfilling college experience that she deserves and the employment I need to retain are imperiled by a common enemy: a virus that should have been contained but was allowed to fester and thrive by a combination of presidential indifference; gubernatorial cowardice; general public impatience; and the unrestrained rhetorical stupidity of people who hold outsized importance in our society but can't simply shut up and drive. Swinney is one of those clown-car occupants. He is not the only one, but his April declaration of inevitable and imminent victory sure as hell didn't help anybody. Not you. Not me. Not your child. Not college football.

You have reason to be angry. Many of us do. But when it comes to action, my record is pretty clear. And it has not encouraged the virus that Trump's klan has been happy to ignore.

This has been a frightening, angry-making experience for all of us. It continues to be so.

Don't put too much stock in what anyone posts here. People are venting.

I feel terrible for high schoolers and college students who are missing out on all the experiences we got to enjoy.

Yeah. My kid is starting senior year. The way FLA is going, I expect schools to be shut down by October for the year. To say we're rushing headlong into the thorns is an understatement.
