I had to get a few things today, so I went to Sam's Club.

The store was flat out of our regular toilet paper (I didn't need any) and had just the industrial looking stuff. Way low on paper towels, which is what I needed and got. Figured while I was there I'd get stuff the kids eat, like mac 'n' cheese, green beans, applesauce, frozen pizzas and milk. For the adults, I got wine, margaritas and Scotch. Plus a couple of prime ribeye steaks.

I got to Costco before it opened this morning. The line of cars waiting to turn right onto the street where the parking entrance is was backed up to the freeway exit; same coming the other direction. People were waiting in Disney-style lines just to get in. It wrapped down around behind the food court then back toward the entrance. Same on the other side toward the tire shop area. The only good thing: The gas lines were moderate and regular was $3.05. I just got gas and didn't bother going into the store. I always store a 30-roll package of Kirkland toilet paper.
I hope it lasts the duration.

There is one good thing about the cancellation of the NCAA tournament. Liberty won’t be playing.

I work for a recreation and park district in Southern California and we have shut down all of our programs until at least April 30 following an order from the county health officer to limit gatherings.

It puts our biggest seasons -- youth baseball and softball -- in jeopardy if the ban goes on much longer than that.

Also, six school districts in the region canceled classes today. They will try remote learning. Some will offer pick-up meal service.

After seeing futures plunge post-Oval Office address, I concur to your second point.

Trump addresses in the future ought to be restricted to 6 a.m. on weekends, when radio stations air their required FCC public service bits.
