Flu test was negative. I just got home. I have to isolate myself for a few days and wait on the other test results. Good thing work is closed until at least Thursday. I feel like crap, but having been tested gives me a little peace of mind. The nurse was great, but she did say some doctors have been to quick to send patients for testing. There is a real danger of the hospital being overwhelmed.

Went to a Target in Midlo for something else but decided to check on the TP supply. Wiped out. Went on a Kroger run for other essentials and checked the TP. Wiped out. I did snag a big roll at work to take home since my team will be teleworking next week, and that seems like an "essential supply." The TP thing is weird. Everyone must be convinced they're going to have the long-term scoots.

I made a run to Publix for two or three items tonight. The store looked like there was an incoming ice storm or hurricane. Bread was totally stripped, many food areas were at least 2/3 empty.

It was crazy at the Safeway I work at. No tp or hand sanitizer, of course. Supplies of canned soup and dry pasta way down. Most folks in good humor, except for a group of kids where one didn't have an ID, so I couldn't sell them a 12-pack of flavored seltzer (and from what I've learned here about seltzer, I was doing them a favor). Just wonder how long it will continue, though.

I think it's more the fear of stores shutting down at the same time you're quarantined for two or three weeks. Or plants being shut down if a worker tests positive and the supply chain getting disrupted.
I had an experience like you. Went to Wal-Mart and Kroger Thursday around noon for a few other things and was going to pick up TP while I was there. We had 8-10 rolls left, so we'd have probably needed it next week anyway. Both stores were cleaned out. I went back today and Kroger was putting a limit on purchases. I bought three packs, then went to Wal-Mart where they had one picked-over pallet in the middle of the floor. I was able to get five or six more.
All together, it was about the equivalent of two of the huge mega-packs I usually buy. We should be good until May. If the apocalypse passes, we'll still use it. If the apocalypse comes, maybe it'll keep the wife from having to turn to prostitution for us to eat.
