No, it doesn't refute it. Look at Vietnam. It's the 11th most densely populated country, with nearly 100 million people in a space 1/30th the size of the US. Yet they have almost no cases. And when they had a tiny uptick in August, they contact traced the shit out of it and now, yes, it's gone again. It's been nearly two months since they had a community transmission. Why? Because everyone there wears masks. Everyone.

And you'll have Thanksgiving and Christmas, where people who have otherwise been careful for months might let their guard down and do extended-family stuff (to say nothing of the anti-Covid crowd, who will just live it up as usual). And the cycle continues.

But guess what happens a week from Saturday? Pac 12 Football !!
It seems the University of Utah's community has already met one of the conditions that would compel a shutdown of football. Or so we were told back in the summer. But now that they're about to get going, they can't be stopped.

We are at 8 million reported COVID cases in the U.S., which most experts say is more like 80 million. So we are about a third of the way to herd immunity. By the time Biden places his hand on the Koran we'll probably already be at 50%. We'll only have 20% to go minimum. Whether we get a vaccine first or we get full infection (and herd immunity the hard way) is right now a coin flip.

Meanwhile, at a health food store in LA: Why be a slave only to the mask?

The gimp also earns dog biscuits for social distancing. Who's a good boy!?!!

FYI, Vietnam is THE least obese nation in the world (2.1%).

    We figuring this out yet?

The size of the obesity correlation with negative outcomes is way smaller than you think it is

"outcomes," yes. Once you get it.

But you have to get it to have an outcome.

What do the stats say about non-obese people's susceptibility to contract the virus in the first place?

I didn't realize you have a higher chance of catching a virus if you're fat. I guess it makes sense -- got to breathe in more air, amirite?

    Thanks for the info, BTE!
