I don't know. This is like saying you're seeing too many soldiers' stories during a war, or too many smokejumper stories during fire season.

One of the things this thread teaches in pretty stark terms is how little information people have actually taken in about the pandemic. The repetition of these stories is not only normal, it's necessary.

You and I feel they're repetitious because we're avid news consumers.

    Most folks aren't.

Your willingness to go after this and doggedness to continue belaboring the point is funny hill on which to die.

I can't see how this could have possibly offended you. At worst, ignore and move on. Instead, you go after this like an emaciated stray goes after a steak that hit the floor. Makes little sense from my POV.

Necessary for what? Now, before everybody flips out, I know COVID is bad, it's real, and it's awful, and it's killing people, and I wear masks, and I didn't do the 25-person gathering on Thanksgiving.

What is the story necessary for?

Because not everybody realizes and acknowledges that COVID is bad, real, awful and is killing people. Not everyone wears masks and many of those same people went to Thanksgiving superspreader events.

Just because you know better doesn't mean everyone else does. Which makes repeating the theme of these stories necessary.

    Not what, who.

Who is the story necessary for?

The ones who did have the Thanksgiving superspreader dinners.

Maybe we can save a couple lives if they don't do it again at Christmas.

I have so many questions about this. Number one is - who the fuck pays $10,000 to go to a Dave Ramsey party?

Seriously - this is messed up on so many levels. Makes me question his judgement. Next thing he's going to tell callers is just deny that their debt is real and go on and live their lives.

    800 employees?

    Also, JFC.

I don't care if Dave Ramsey lives in fear or not.

I care very much if he sickens or puts others at risk.
