The Mucinex sinus medicine I took a few weeks ago had Acetaminophen as well as a cough suppresant and an expectorant. You wouldn't want to take that and Acetaminophen separately. Also, several of the companies' products, including generics, have the same ingredients in the same dosages; that is, three or four companies' cough pills/gels will have the same ingredients as each other and their sinus pills/gels will have the same ingredients as each other, but Mucinex's cough medicine has some ingredients that are different from its sinus medicine.
