I got a text today to show up Saturday to get my first shot.
My main group at work consists of 10 people. The two of us who are both 49 got the call. The others ranging in age from 23-43 did not.

I tried to get tested at a drive-up place today. I was in line, in my car, for about an hour. Dozens of cars in front of me. The web site said they'd be open until 3 today. When I called to register they said 2. At 11:30, a state department of public safety official told me they were closed. They had seen as many people as they could see in a day.

I finally got through to the urgent care place. I have an appointment for Sunday. I doubt I can see anyone any sooner.

I may be in trouble at work. I received a text reminding me of the policy of needing two week' notice to request time off. Well, this was sprung upon me yesterday. I do need to get tested. What was I supposed to do?

Tell them if they try to discipline - let alone fire you - for getting COVID testing that you'll see them in court.

And another thing, @Smallpotatoes … if you think you have COVID-19 they should be moving heaven and earth to help you take the time you need because the alternative is a potential COVID-19 spreader in their workplace.

If they haven’t made that connection yet, help them work it through.

Getting a lawyer for this kind of case is not that easy in some places. Not trying to be a wet blanket. Some will want a retainer to start the process while the ones who take cases contingent on the settlement can take a huge bite out of what comes of the lawsuit.

Guess nobody at this company has ever had to attend a funeral on days' notice.

You are correct. My comment was rather flip. Sometimes the threat of getting a lawyer does the trick, too.
