Condolences to all. It's hard and never gets easier no matter how many furbeings adopt you.

My little Shih Head made it it 19 or 20. We're not sure. He was a Noah's Wish dog who got lost in the paperwork and scramble to get everyone out of New Orleans. After some false starts and rescues from abusive situations, he spent ten years being the tiny, crabby senior citizen who followed me around the house and almost got me kicked out of a coaches and captains phone presser.

Me to the NHL person: I really, really have to mute my phone.

NHL Person: We can't because reasons.

Nik barks and throws himself at my office door.

NHL Person: He sounds little. What kind is he?

ME: He's a Shih Tzu named Niklas Lidstrom

NHL Person: Awwwww. No wonder he's upset. (Either PHX or ANA knocked DET out of the previous round in the playoffs.)

Second dose in the arm! Unlike my battle with my bladder the last time, this time, it was no time at all. Exited and got the shot within 5 minutes. I’m waiting longer for the symptoms check then I did waiting for the shot.

Happy to see so many people here (and elsewhere) getting vaccinated.

Next tier opens up March 22 in Alabama, and by virtue of my profession I’m allowed to get in line then.

I had a cat make 18, but was very sick at the tail end. If the kidneys shut down it's over.

A friend of mine kept a cat alive and well for a year-plus administering insulin treatments. That was a sheer act of love. It was not cheap to do but extended the journey.

We had a cat who was diagnosed with diabetes when he was 12 or 13. We gave him a daily insulin injection -- he died of old age right around his 20th birthday.

(If anyone should find yourself dealing with this, the trick for us was using bovine insulin. It was really difficult getting things leveled out at first. We switched to bovine insulin and he was back to normal pretty much from there on out.)

Well, it's why I buy from show people (if and only if they don't interbreed).
I overpay because I know the cat is treated right from the start. Bred to be some healthy half-assed 'champion' until one steps in with a cash offer they can't refuse.
The only hook is that I am required to get them neutered so their secret sauce doesn't make somebody else a profit. And these people claim to be all about cats.

My then-girlfriend’s co-worker noticed this stray around her neighborhood. Said girlfriend got infatuated and brought the cat home, even though she already had two.

We only had the cat for a little while before it became evident something was wrong. It turned out the poor lady was sick with some kind of cancer. And that tough decision was made.

Let me tell you that 1. I am not a cat person really and 2. I have little experience dealing with death. I hope it stays that way for as long as possible. On the day we went to the vet, we were standing there in the room as the injection went in. I teared up for a second. You can get attached quickly.

Got my new kittens from a local organization. The foster mom didn’t give them a rabies vax and went full antivaxxer. Just nodded along and took home the carts ready to ignore the lady. But the vet told us the same thing. Since they’re indoor cats, we probably won’t give them the rabies vaccine.

A well-regarded organization in my town, started by students to help families in need (immediate assistance), held a fundraiser last night, dress up event, casino events, BUFFET, enclosed space. A buffet.

    Three masks. Three.

Oh and pictures of high school kids (one group, the rest of the attendees were adults) unmasked and gambling.

Sean Hannity thinks it’s just fine.
