I am That Asshole who has this conversation with my nephew about twice a month. He pats me on the head and then goes on his merry way because the garbage people who share our gene pool tell him this is all a plot to make Their President TM look bad. My fondest desire is to get enough educational bona fides so I can disappear into wilder America, change my name, spend the rest of my life teaching at a community college and possibly get married just for the novelty of it. Did I mention I would change my phone to an unpublished number, scrub my social media, and possibly change my cat's chip registration?

So sick of this shit.

Told a stranger I wanted to drag him by the hair into the ladies' locker room at Centennial Ice Plex and get him pregnant. He said it didn't work that way and I said, "Duh! I know that! I'm a woman."
Silliness should banish this feeling of ill will to Stupido-Americans. Nope. I still feel like a ragey, maladaptive snotgoblin.

 

Worthy story. And I'm still bordering on not caring. Get the vaccine.

 

Today's version in my neck of the woods -- adult sister and two brothers get delta variant in LATE AUGUST. One brother dies, the other is about to and she is having serious troubles. The sister goes on the news and pleads for people to get the vaccine so it doesn't tear more families apart.

The reason they weren't vaccinated -- they say is that multiple times they were unsuccessful due to scheduling conflicts.

I mean c'mon really, why not just say the dog ate the vaccine

 

The long, or possibly short, con. Needless shame.

@tea and ease, it was a joke. I used to get messages at rinks and the arena that were variations of, "U R funeeeee! Where R U? R U cute?" ::sigh:: Why couldn't they be entertaining or at least fluent in their primary language? So I would answer in unexpected ways. These days, it happens on Facebook.

On another note: There's a concept in the helping professions called "compassion fatigue." It looks like a lot of people are feeling it or there wouldn't be so many articles about the poor, misunderstood unvaccinated. It's all just a filigreed echo of the cry of the Cluster B jerk: You don't understand! If you just let me explain!
