No worries, you can still head up the 605 and go play with Ty, Al and Judge Smalls at Pacific Palms – Carl Spackler's got the greens looking great, so you've got that going for you.

Just a suggestion that we do some of those things we never have time for.

Old farts...clean out your closets and basements and boxes of stuff. Save your kids from doing that when you croak.

Old and lazy farts...always wanted to get in an exercise routine?? Lots of videos available on line or if you are in an area that you can do it, walk, walk, walk.

    Books to read or write?

Another viewing of breaking bad? Or whatever.

There is a link going around for recorded Broadway performances.

Try not to watch the virus coverage on tv all day, it is more satisfying when you haven't watched and you actually get some new info at the end of the day.

    Breakout the scrabble, monopoly, etc.

    Any more?

My daughter is 28 and is trying to cover up her fear of what is happening in the world . She is in the workforce now and her boss, the owner of the company, doesn't believe all of this social distancing nonsense. Add to that the confusing policies coming from Orange County officials. She is trying her best. Her company gets a lot of deliveries, so they have a table set up outside. Nobody is allowed in the office.
Also, she went through college at the time when mass shootings were happening frequently. How do you go to school and concentrate on learning when the person next to you might have a gun in a backpack?? This bothered her, too. We are not a paranoid family, but these were things that affected her -- then and now.

On the other hand, a friend of mine is VP of Sales for a large exercise equipment company. He told me yesterday he just had his best month of sales ever, and he has been doing this for a few decades. People are not going to the gym, rather, they are buying home exercise equipment.
He has been pulled off the road and was told to work at home so he doesn't have to go to his office. He is doing Facetime sales meetings in which he can wear a dress shirt and tie, above shorts and flops.
Who knows what kind of sales month he will have next month. I saw upthread that Dick's Sporting Goods is closing for two weeks. They are my friends biggest client ... he just wined and dined and played golf with their buyer a couple of weeks ago.

    What a fucking shocker.

RTExpress assured us Russia had almost no cases. Fucking lickspittle.

Dad update: Negative on the flu. But the doctor couldn't test him for CV because he didn't meet one criteria - that he knew he'd been around somebody who has tested positive. The doctor called to update me personally, which I really appreciated. He griped and griped about the lack of tests available and then said "off the record, I think he's probably got it but can't say for sure."

Sad to realize the state you choose to live in could directly impact your health; here in Ventura, there are drive-up testing stations now.

My wife loves to buy cheap old board games from thrift stores, which is a blessing and a curse right now.
