PSA: Anyone who feels up to it health wise - food banks are getting slammed with donations from restaurants that are shuttered and could use a hand or two (which is a great thing, but they need more volunteers - since a lot of their volunteers tend to be older folks who are staying home now).

I was under the impression that most of the New York State cases were in Westchester. And maybe they were as recently as a couple of days ago. Today, however, 60% of the state's cases, a whopping 2,468, are in Manhattan. I know it's Manhattan, but damn. That's one of every five nationally.

Last I saw it was 3,500 in NYC, but that's all five boroughs, not just Manhattan. But it's hard to keep up with the numbers.

A majority of the nation's current cases are in 12 counties.
The Times has a county=by-county look.
Coronavirus Map: U.S. Cases Surpass 10,000

New York County, which I think is confined to Manhattan, has 2,468 as of 6:51 pm. Staggering.

Remember, New York (state and city) is ramping up testing very quickly. The more tests, the more positive results, the more cases. God help the numbers when Texas, which has done diddly, starts testing on a large scale.
