It feels good to take down someone who richly deserves it once in a while.

UAB Medicine just put up ads. Starting at noon this Sunday you can call the number provided and make a screening appointment. Progress.

6 things to know about the coronavirus testing disaster in the US

Lots of good info here, and for once I can clip some good news out of it:

"The good news is that the FDA is now allowing private companies and academic institutions to make their own tests. The pharmaceutical company Roche got approval to develop an automated test on March 13; prior to that, all of the tests had been hand-done. And as of March 19, 89 public health laboratories and even more private ones are finally able to run tests for SARS-CoV-2.

The CDC told Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) on March 13 that, nationwide, the US had the capacity to run around 7,000 tests per day; a tracking project run by Scott Gottlieb, a former FDA commissioner, suggests that as of March 18, more than 36,000 Americans can now be tested in a day."

That is outweighed by tons of bad, but it was nice to hear.

    Of course. Yep. Agreed.

That would be nice. Given that this is Tennessee, it isn't happening.

I'm still floored at the extent some are willing to go to make bank off people's fears.

My Libertarian FB friends are especially heartbroken to find their worldview doesn’t quite translate to this and that people aren’t angrily marching in the street because their rights are being taken away.

I was once a member of a Facebook condo homeowners group - never seen such cattiness in my fucking life.
Had a few drinks one night and popped off and got myself banned as well.
Over dog shit in common areas.

Many of the people in these groups truly have no lives.
