We feel back from Europe last week, and the hotel arranged a test for us. It was pretty cool; we paid a little bit more, still way less than you pay here, and a mobile van came right the hotel and tested us. So she got the stuff out and she did everything, it looked like a real test. She swabbed our noses, and 30 seconds later told us we were both negative and gave us the paperwork. I don't know if it was a real test or not, but I know that there's not a test in existence that has results in 30 seconds. So we literally paid for a negative result.

I took mine in London the day before I was supposed to leave, and it took about two hours for the results to come in. Nerve wracking, wondering if I was going to have to stay another five days because I was definitely around a shit ton of people that week. Thankfully it was negative.

We were in St. Lucia over Memorial Day and it was the same - day before you left you were queuing up for your hotel-conducted test. And like Cosmo, we had that 24-hour period of "what if I have to stay on this island for another week?"

It was nice knowing though once you were on the flight that everyone you were sitting with had been tested in the last 24 hours!

I don't doubt that there could be some true, active cases of COVID that may be causing staffing shortages, to some extent. But it is also possible that some Delta employees are simply taking advantage of whatever COVID-related absence policies the company has in order to just take some time off.

This has been happening at retail workplaces for two years now. Just saying...

I think decades of employers treating like employees like shit is coming home to roost

A friend of mine tested positive for COVID while on vacation to visit another friend. Second friend, a nurse, thought it'd be cool to put a masked-up, drugged-up friend on a flight back across the country.

People are selfish and do what they want, no matter what they're advised to do.
