That's one of the "good" things I thought was going to come from this: that we'd realize our healthcare system was buckling and we needed to make some structural changes to it.

It could've happened had the focus not quickly turned to daily briefings filled with nuttery and suggestions of bleach ingestion.

Went out for drinks with co-workers and a friend Friday. Said friend does infectious disease research. Guess who's the one who popped with a positive test today? She's done everything possible for two and a half years to avoid it. She's only started doing more things indoors recently. I feel a touch responsible. Even if this current variant of a variant packs a less potent punch than the others.

Tested positive for VID this morning.
Don’t cry for me, Argentina. I could smell and taste the BK double cheeseburger (more bad judgment, I suppose) I had this afternoon.
My symptoms are akin to allergies or strep at this point. Took the day off just to sleep a lot, which I love doing even if I’m at 100 percent. Hoping the preemptive laying low will be to my benefit tomorrow.
